Xuzhou shows heritage crafts in sister-city Vyborg District

Xuzhou City in Jiangsu Province has showcased its intangible cultural heritage in Vyborg District, its sister city in Russia, via both online and onsite exhibitions called The Gift of Time.

The official website of the district and Vyborg city as well as the city’s library are all featuring the exhibitions that will run until the end of February. The exhibits include 20 kinds of crafts from Xuzhou including paper-cutting, herbal sachets, tiger-head shoes and willow works.

As one of the largest administrative districts in Leningrad Oblast, Vyborg has an area of more than 7,000 square kilometers and a population of about 200,000 people. The district borders Finland and is close to the Baltic Sea. Vyborg is an important water and land transportation hub and energy logistics port in Russia.

Xuzhou City and Vyborg District held an online signing ceremony to formally conclude the sister-city relationship on September 8, 2022.
