Jiangsu Tech Entrepreneurship Competition focuses on renewable energy and NEVs in Taizhou

The 11th Jiangsu Tech Entrepreneurship Competition advanced to the stage of competitions within the renewable energy and new energy vehicles (NEV) sectors on the afternoon of August 24.

This sectoral contest, held in Hailing District of Taizhou City, also served as the provincial division of the 12th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

A total of 85 teams and enterprises competed for ten opportunities to advance to the finals. This event also helped participants better understand their advantages and identify gaps in order to enhance quality growth.

The host city of Taizhou has been committed to innovation-driven, high-quality development. It has won honors such as being named as a national innovative pilot city, a national intellectual property demonstration city, and a national innovation-driven demonstration city.

Xu Wenjin, vice mayor of Taizhou, said that the city boasts a solid foundation and distinct features in the renewable energy industry, with constant progress made in industry scale and innovation. Innovation has become a clear mark and powerful driver of Taizhou''s high-quality development, according to Xu.

Jiangsu Tech Entrepreneurship Competition is one of the largest, most prestigious, and most influential events of its kind, providing numerous opportunities for talent to showcase their innovation and entrepreneurship ideas, and facilitating the settlement of projects into cities.

Li Taisheng, director of the competition's organizing committee office, said core team members are 38 years old on average and the youngest is aged 23. The members included 91 individuals with PhD degrees, 105 people with master''s degrees, and 46 people who received education abroad. Furthermore, these projects involve 522 patents, including 197 invention patents.

Furthermore, the launch ceremony of the sectoral contest unveiled a pilot base to host projects and talent in the province-wide competition. Shi Qing, head of commerce department of Hailing District, said Hailing is poised to connect quality projects with local industrial parks, enable the seeds of innovation and entrepreneurship to thrive, and let talent live and work with ease.
