A total of 23 foreign nationals from countries including France, Chile and the United States participated in the “Discover Jiangsu - Feel the Pulse of Intangible Cultural Heritage Together” program held in Sihong County of Suqian City on July 10 and 11.
They visited the Hongze Lake Folk Museum and a center for preserving and developing the craft of paper-cutting, commonly used to decorate doors in the county. At the museum, the group explored various fishing tools, household items in the past time, and the Hongze Lake Fishing Drum Dance, a state-level intangible cultural heritage, gaining a deep understanding of the long history and rich culture of the fishing community.
They also visited Shuanggou Distillery to learn about the manufacturing of alcoholic beverages.
