In 2023, the new energy industry achieved an output value of 100 billion yuan in Suqian, according to the government work report delivered at the 4th session of the 6th People’s Congress of Suqian City on January 13.

The city’s solar industry, one of the six key sectors to receive prioritized support, entered a new phase in 2018 with Trina Solar’s investment. In 2023, Suqian had two new companies each with annual sales of 10 billion yuan, both specializing in solar photovoltaic field.

The city saw the signing of 22 projects with a total investment of 43 billion yuan at its photovoltaic sector annual conference on December 14, 2023. Furthermore, on January 12, 2024, Suqian became home to a 3.2 billion yuan intelligent equipment project, which is estimated to generate annual sales of 3 billion yuan.

Suqian is now recognized as a hub for leading companies in the photovoltaic sector. In 2024, the city aims to increase the annual output value of its new energy industry to 115 billion yuan.
