Nusrat Azeema, an international student from Pakistan just came to Nanjing six months ago. She likes exploring different sites of the city to better know the country and the people. Under the help of an artisan at Nanjing Folklore Museum, she finished her first ever Nanjing Velvet Flower.

The flowers are crafted from silk, with silk threads for their form and copper wires for structure. In 2007, the craftsmanship of velvet flowers was listed as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu.
