Prof. Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia gave an interview with the reporter from Xinhua Daily when attending the 2025 Yangtze Culture Forum held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province on November 21.
Being aware that the finless porpoises, an endangered species living in the Yangtze River can be seen in the urban area of Nanjing, he believed that Nanjing has done a good job.
He said that we need to learn from history, to understand how we bring science and technology, how we bring the ideas of ethics like ecological civilization. “And we also need to carefully look into the links with the communities, and creating a shared future and a shared vision,” he said.
