A string of heartwarming stories from ICBC Nanjing Branch's grassroots outlets has earned public recognition, reflecting the branch's commitment to responsible, people-centered service.
Police–Bank Cooperation Blocks Gold Scam
In December 2025, three staff members at Chengzhong Sub-branch detected anomalies during a precious-metals withdrawal and immediately alerted police through the established police–bank liaison mechanism. Their quick action helped intercept a fraud involving 2,000 grams of gold, sparing the customer heavy losses. The trio was later honored at a municipal commendation ceremony as the only banking representatives recognized.
A Helping Hand for Visually Impaired Customers
When a blind customer came to Daming Road Sub-branch to update her ID information, staff gave her priority service, moved the transaction from self-service to a manned counter, and walked her through every step — verification, fingerprint confirmation and account notices — reading each aloud. Staff then escorted her outside, confirmed her bus route with the driver and stayed until the vehicle left.
Lost Envelope with €1,000 Returned
A customer left an envelope containing €1,000 at Xianlinhu Sub-branch. A security guard handed it over, and the operations supervisor reviewed surveillance footage to confirm ownership, then called the owner, who at first mistook the call for a scam. The money was returned intact in about half an hour.
A Summer Haven for City Couriers
At Yuhua West Road Sub-branch, the "ICBC Service Station" has become a summer energy stop for delivery riders, offering air conditioning, drinking water, device charging, rest seats and heatstroke relief — along with anti-fraud tips on courier-specific scams.
ICBC Nanjing Branch said it will keep embedding risk prevention and convenient services into every outlet, ensuring customers feel safe and assured in every transaction.
