The border inspection station in Nanjing has processed nearly 1,000 cases of 240-hour visa-free transit for foreign nationals in one year since the National Immigration Administration introduced the policy. Most of the travelers are from the United States, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Canada.
China has also continued to expand its unilateral visa-free and mutual visa-exemption arrangements with other countries. As a result, inbound foreign arrivals at Nanjing Lukou International Airport have reached 161,000 since the beginning of this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 20.7%. Among the visa-free arrivals using these programs, the top source countries are South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.
