On December 6, the inaugural session of the "China-U.S. Youth Salon," jointly organized by the Jiangsu International Cultural Exchange Center and the Horizon Institution, was successfully held in Nanjing.

The salon brought together experts and scholars from universities including Nanjing University, New York University Shanghai, Zhejiang International Studies University, and Sanjiang University, as well as international students from institutions such as the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Nanjing University, National University of Defense Technology, New York University Shanghai, and Southeast University, alongside representatives from related organizations.

The theme of the event was "Steering the Ship of U.S.-China Relations Toward a Smooth Voyage into the Future."

Chen Shu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangsu International Cultural Exchange Center, remarked that young people are the future of U.S.-China relations. Their interactions, mutual understanding, and friendships will provide the strongest and most enduring momentum.

During the salon session, international student representatives from countries including the United States, Brazil, Germany, and Costa Rica engaged in lively discussions around three key sub-topics. Experts and scholars participated in the discussions, offering professional advice on the collaborative ideas proposed by the students, creating an atmosphere of vibrant interaction.

Ivan Rasmussen, Associate Professor at New York University Shanghai, noted that young participants delved into substantive issues such as strategic mutual trust and industrial win-win cooperation, and their depth of thinking was truly impressive.

The international students also experienced representative intangible cultural heritage projects such as knot weaving and velvet flower making, gaining an appreciation for the intricacy and depth of traditional Chinese crafts.
