Jiangsu's total retail sales of consumer goods reached over 3.88 trillion yuan from January to October, a year-on-year growth of 4%, according to data released by the provincial Department of Statistics on November 25.

In October, retail sales of furniture rose 14% year-on-year, marking the fourth consecutive month of double-digit expansion. Sales of new-energy vehicles grew 22.5% in the ten-month period.

Market demand for green and smart products remained strong. In October, sales of smartphones and smart home appliances increased by 6.8% and 14.8% year-on-year, respectively.

From January to October, revenue at supermarkets and membership-only warehouse retailers rose by 10.8% and 15.3% year-on-year respectively.
