"The Rite of Spring", the original dance drama produced by Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts, kicked off its 2026 national tour in Nanjing on March 6.

In 1913, Russian composer Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" premiered in Paris. Over the past century, many artists around the world have reinterpreted this classic work in various forms. The dance drama "The Rite of Spring" produced by Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts, shifts its narrative perspective to a group of Chinese art students who traveled to Paris in the 1920s, presenting a dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures.

"The Rite of Spring" came to the Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University one day ahead of the national tour. Director Li Chao, screenwriter Cui Lei, and the four leading actors Wei Shenzhou, Jiang Aidong, Li Wenxin, and Zhao Zitong engaged in a dialogue with the students, and shared their insights.
