The number of authorized patents in Jiangsu Province reached 116,900 in 2025, ranking second in China.

The major fields, including computer technology, measurement, electrical equipment and energy accounted for more than 50% of the total.

The number of authorized patents for enterprises reached 86,300, accounting for 73.79% of the total in the province, fully demonstrating the leading role of enterprises in innovation. In addition, colleges and universities, and research institutions contributed 25,300 and 3,300 patents respectively, becoming important forces in basic research and frontier technology.
