The Fourth Session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened at the Great Hall of Jiangsu on February 2. Members of the provincial committee gathered in Nanjing to offer advice and suggestions for the advancement of the modernization with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu.

Xin Changxing, Party secretary of Jiangsu province delivered a speech at the meeting. ​​ He said that last year, we studied and implemented the important instructions of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on the work of Jiangsu, and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the plenary sessions, and advanced the new practices of the modernization with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu with solid strides.

The 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–30) is a crucial stage for laying the foundation for the comprehensive realization of modernization. To accomplish current and future tasks, we must focus on the main thread of studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the work of Jiangsu, fulfill the functions of political consultation and democratic supervision, and demonstrate new commitments in serving the new practices of the modernization with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu, said Xin.

Zhang Yizhen, chairperson of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, delivered the work report on behalf of the Standing Committee.​​ She said that we will work more closely to pool strength, promote the construction of specialized consultation organizations in a high-quality and efficient manner, and give full and effective play to the role of committee members, so as to contribute more wisdom and strength to writing a new chapter in modernization.
