Jiangsu's economy has demonstrated strong resilience during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), with rapid progress in the manufacturing sector, according to a press conference held by the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology.
In 2024, Jiangsu's added value in the manufacturing sector reached 4.63 trillion yuan, accounting for 33.8% of the provincial GDP. This achievement secured its position as China's largest manufacturing province for the fourth year in a row.
Jiangsu is home to 14 national-level advanced manufacturing clusters, the highest number among provincial-level regions in the country. Key Industries, including biomedicine, shipbuilding, photovoltaics, integrated circuits and power batteries, all rank first nationwide in terms of scale.
The province also boasts 57,000 high-tech enterprises, which contribute nearly 80% of total R&D investment and 90% of patent grants across Jiangsu.
In advancing digital transformation and intelligent upgrading, Jiangsu has implemented a total of 56,000 projects and established 15 global “lighthouse factories.”
