See the new statistics of cultural heritage of Jiangsu

The Jiangsu Provincial Government Information Office outlined the province's cultural industry development at a press conference on November 11.

The coastal province is home to three UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, one UNESCO Natural Heritage site, 251 nationally protected cultural relics, and 14 National Historic and Cultural Cities. It also has 12 items inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Jiangsu has 367 registered museums, including 26 national first-class museums. In 2024, these museums received over 139 million visits, the highest number among China's provincial-level regions.

The province has further established 102 provincial-level intangible cultural heritage workshops and 45 ICH creative spaces to support preservation and innovation.

As of the end of September, Jiangsu had 12,538 cultural enterprises above designated size, placing it among the top provinces nationwide.
