The added value of the service sector in Jiangsu Province exceeded 5.6 trillion yuan in the first three quarters of the year, lifting its share of the province's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 54.6%, according to statistical data released on October 29.

The sector was the primary driver of economic growth, contributing 56.1% to overall economic expansion and boosting GDP growth by 3.0 percentage points.

From January to August, the operating revenue of service enterprises above the designated size increased 7.7% year on year.

Furthermore, consumer spending continued to rise in areas such as sports events and tourism during the period.
