Title: Fulcrum of Dialogue
Description:
The sculpture Fulcrum of Dialogue portrays a digital female figure in the powerful posture of weightlifting. Adorned in a cheongsam symbolizing cultural memory, she lifts a lace-wrapped ‘emotional self’ with her left hand and hoists a black data-like rigid body representing the unknown world with her right. The work transforms “bearing weight” into “offering support,” vividly constructing a profound dialogue between tradition and the future, and between the individual and the vast digital civilization.
It moves beyond debating strength versus softness to explore the very possibility of dialogue: genuine connection lies not in compromise or confrontation, but in finding a stable fulcrum—much like in weightlifting—where differing elements are transformed into commensurate weights and lifted with poise. This act serves as both a metaphor for intergenerational relay and for the innovative fusion of civilizations within cyberspace. Ultimately, with a posture that is both resilient and elegant, the work asserts the younger generation's active construction of subjectivity amidst the digital tide.
