Design Information

Title: Genesis: The New Chapter

Description:
The design inspiration originates from the eternal classic moment in Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel fresco The Creation of Adam—the touch between the fingers of God and Adam. This divine-human contact symbolizes the primordial force of creation. Genesis: The New Chapter uses this as a starting point to express the infusion of humanistic spirit into the digital age, attempting to interpret the concept of 'human-machine co-creation': in an era of symbiosis between AI algorithms and human thought, machines provide the logical framework while humans contribute emotional soul, together giving rise to the possibilities of future art, which is already a reality.

The work also contains an inquiry into contemporary human-machine relationships: when AI becomes a creative partner, can art still retain its 'human' warmth? As a young scholar, I attempt to use sculpture as a medium to awaken viewers' reflection on technological ethics: perhaps we need not fear machines, but should, as advocated in Daoist philosophy—'harmony between humanity and nature'—expand the boundaries of creation through collaboration. The artwork employs a black-and-white color scheme, aligning with the Daoist philosophy of 'the interdependence of yin and yang, where all things bear yin and embrace yang.' Black and white are not opposites but, as stated in the Dao De Jing, 'being and non-being give birth to each other,' striving for balance within the fusion of technology and humanity.
