Design Information

Title: Crouching Dragon

Description:
The inspiration for this work comes from the bronze seated dragon excavated from the tomb of Shi Siming of the Tang Dynasty. The dragon holds profound historical and symbolic significance in traditional Chinese culture. For the Chinese people, the dragon represents good fortune and prosperity, harmony and longevity, power and nobility, as well as the hopes for their children's success.

The bronze seated dragon unearthed from Shi Siming's tomb possesses a unique aura and aesthetic beauty. Drawing reference from its imagery and incorporating personal interpretation and artistic sensibility, the artist has utilized the modern digital tool ZBrush to recreate the form of the seated dragon. This aims to clarify the image of this mythical creature, which carries unique emotional weight for all Chinese people. The work seeks to fuse tradition with innovation in dialogue, to promote the excellence of traditional Chinese culture, and to contribute to revitalizing this cultural heritage with renewed vitality.
