The "Green Energy Port" project of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) in Yancheng City began the natural gas supply through pipelines on December 16.

The first-day operation delivered natural gas of 2.41 million cubic meters to 42 users and one power plant in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. Based on the monthly gas consumption of 20 cubic meters per household during the winter peak period, the supply will be sufficient for 120,000 households for one month.
The Green Energy Port is a national key project for natural gas production, supply, storage and marketing system and the largest LNG reserve base in China. The first phase of the project includes 10 large-scale LNG storages. Four 220,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tanks were put into use on September 26 this year. The other six 270,000-cubic-meter tanks, the largest in the world, are scheduled to operate by the end of 2023.
