The harvest of Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs began on September 26, with annual production of the prized delicacy at around 10,350 tonnes.

On the same day, Gucheng Lake in Nanjing’s Gaochun District also launched its harvest, as 20 boats set out to the sound of gongs.

Drones and smart transport equipment were deployed to ensure the timely delivery of the autumn delicacy. Production is expected to increase by about 10% this year.
